Staying connected when on the go is important to most people. It is why they carry around cell phones, lap tops and PDAs. You are probably the same way. You need to keep track of your important schedules, appointments and must have the ability to stay connected wherever you may be. Thanks to the people at Hewlett Packard, you can stay connected with pocket PCs. The iPAQ Pocket PC model H5550 and the H1910 are perfect examples of being able to stay mobile in the world around you.

There is a way to remain on the go and still stay connected. You can try an iPAQ Pocket PC. There are two different versions that may meet your needs: the H5550 and the H1910.

So what can you really expect from both of these great pieces of technology? Well, you get a pocket PC that is roughly the size of a deck of cards. The H5550 is slightly bigger than the H1910, but both are slim, which translates into an easy carrying size perfect for your purse, briefcase or pocket. Both have a trans-reflective display that is of the highest quality and produces clear, high definition pictures. Both have removable batteries, which means you can replace the battery with a fully charged one and not have to worry about losing your important documents and files.

The specifications on the iPAQ Pocket PC model H5550 is impressive no matter who you are. It comes with a hefty price tag of around $650, but you can count on a 400 MHz XScale processor, a biometric fingerprint scanner and much more memory.

It comes with a heftier price tag at around $650, but you are receiving quite a lot for the money. You can count on more memory, faster processing speeds and added security that do not come with the H1910 model, such as a biometric scanner that prevents others from accessing your PC software.

If you want better quality headphones, then you will have to purchase an adapter at a Radio Shack, but they are relatively inexpensive. Also not included with the pocket PC is the cradle. You can purchase the cradle for around $49.The H1910 model is definitely worth the price, even though it has less power and a few drawbacks, such as the headphone jack.

Pocket PCs are definitely the way in which many people are staying connected. There is no need to lug around a laptop or worry about finding an internet connection, when most pocket PCs nowadays have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The iPAQ Pocket PC model H5550 and H1910 are two pocket PCs that you will definitely want to keep in mind when you are shopping around for a handheld pocket device.

Well-written reviews is what I have always read before making any purchase, and I suggest you do the same prior to making your PDA purchase. People often buy things that they later regret by being in a very emotional state and forget to do their home work first.

Don't forget the purpose of which you were going to buy that handheld device in the first place. If you do, chances are you might end up with a model to small or paying for more features than you'll

ever need. That is exactly what happens when people lose focus on what they are after and let some sales pitch mislead them into thinking they need more features than necessary.

Sometimes an older model that doesn't have all the bells and whistles can be more than enough, and often are. The standalone PDA successor is losing market in favor for smartphones, that combines the pocket computer functionality with cell phone, thus you can transmit voice data over mobile operators communication lines.

Usability is an important perspective to look at in every device. As the size of the gadgets decreases, so does the usability. One engineering challenge is getting a high level usability maintained while making the devices smaller and smaller.

While functionality increases per square cm the usability is decreasing, the size is actually one of the most important aspects to look at in a PDA. Size is a cruical aspect to look at on a PDA that can make or break the deal. The brand is not as important as one might think, every manufacturer have good and bad models, just make sure to find out the good ones. Whether it's a Palm or IPAQ is secondary now when palm supports the Pocket PC hardware specification.

One area of usage often involves taking notes, this make the size aspect very important. If the device is to small you really can't expect the screen to be large. You'll want to look at things like screen size and the quality of inking functionality when you are going to use the PDA for taking notes. HP iPAQ 211 is a standalone PDA with excellent qualities for this purpose, read the review below.
