Pocket PC Turns Into Smartphone?

Have you ever missed a meeting or some other important appointment, or maybe you needed access to some important document while you were traveling. Then you know how frustrating it can be.

Try a pocket PC as a way to help you stay in touch with the world. It has all of the properties of a computer, but is compact so you can carry it with you at all times.

The pocket PC, or pocket personal computer, was an evolution in the making. It started out as a basic device about the size of a calculator and had the most basic of functions. Later models added the feature of being able to see one line of text, yet have since evolved into personal hand held assistants that can email, browse the internet, organize your daily events and files and even play multimedia games.

The current version of the pocket PC operating system is windows mobile 6 but the real breakthrough cam with window mobile 5 and was a great relief to handheld computer owners. The pocket PC is by a more general term also referred to as a PDA or Personal Digital Assistant.

To eliminate the risk of losing data when the battery ran dead, Windows Mobile 5 used a flash memory to store information. When the version 6 came with even more advanced functionality that e.g enabled the handheld device to work as a phone, also known as Smartphone. On top of that it added more disk space.

The Windows mobile Smartphone is a combination of the cell phone and the personal digital assistant. It's also the new upcomer that's getting the mainstream's attention. The PC software is there in the cell phone so it can be used as a personal computer when on the go, that's something we take for granted today.

If you find yourself constantly on the go, then a pocket PC is exactly what you need. The new lines of models include Smartphones, which have the latest PC software, along with the speed and processing ability that you need to schedule your appointments, send and receive emails, text message and make calls.

Even if you already have a cell phone, the PDA can still be used for its scheduling capabilities; however, once you have fully mastered the PDA, you'll never want to go back to a paper planner again.
